Owls Pickup Road Win Against Anne Arundel, 4-1

The Prince George's Community College men's soccer team travelled to Arnold yesterday, September 10^th for a 7 PM matchup against the Riverhawks in a Region 20 Division II matchup. The Owls scored two goals apiece in both halves of the contest as they picked up their first road win of the year, 4-1.

Freshman Jerson Chirino opened up the scoring for the Owls off an assist from Randy Salvador in the 13^th minute to put Prince George's in front, 1-0. Salvador assisted on Prince George's second goal as well, connecting with a crashing Zico Tesheira in the 32^nd to earn his tenth goal scored on the season and extend the Owls lead to two.

Sophomore Dexter Nguekam padded the Owls lead just five minutes into the second half, scoring his first goal of the season off a Tesheira assist. Anne Arundel answered back in the 56^th after a corner kick played into a header goal for the Riverhawks to make it 3-1 with plenty of time to go. The Owls, however, answered right back with their fourth goal just two minutes later when Perez Hengoue capitalized on another Tesheira assist to close out the scoring for the day.

The Riverhawks outshot Prince George's in the second half (8-7) and finished with five corner kicks compared to two for the Owls as goalkeeper Jairo Caceres finished with a new single-game high in saves with 7 on the day. Ngonya Tajong served the last ten minutes in net for the Owls, his third appearance in relief of Caceres to date.

Prince George's remains on the road for their next matchup, a 4 PM matchup against College of Southern Maryland on Thursday, September 12^th.
