The Prince George's Community College women's basketball season came to an end Tuesday evening after the Owls fell to the top seeded CCBC Essex Knights, 87-38, on the road in postseason play.
Prince George's got off to a promising start with a defensive stop and a Monae Herman three-pointer to open the game for the Lady Owls. However, CCBC Essex quickly responded and seized control of the game, using a strong offensive push to create separation early.
Despite battling throughout the contest, the Owls struggled to keep pace with the Knights scoring attack. CCBC Essex outscored Prince George's by double digits in each of the final three quarters, steadily building a lead that proved too large to overcome as the clock wound down.
Prince George's had its best offensive stretch in the second quarter, scoring 12 points, but the Knights countered with 23 points in the period to maintain firm control heading into the second half.
Tuesday's loss ends the season for the 2025-26 campaign. Prince George's finishes the season with a 10-16 overall record and an 8-6 mark in conference play.
The Lady Owls showed resilience throughout the season, competing hard in conference action and earning a postseason appearance to cap their year.
