Women’s Basketball Places Three On All-Region Teams
The Prince George's Community College women's basketball team had three student-athletes chosen to a 2024-25 NJCAA Region 20 Division II All-Region Team, it was announced on Thursday, March 20th. Sophomore Tamia Washington (Oxon Hill, MD) was one of five named First Team All-Region, freshman Kryslynn Stewart (Washington, D.C.) was one of five selected Second Team All-Region while fellow freshman Nia Grymes (Upper Marlboro, MD) was one of nine named an Honorable Mention. Prince George's three selections were tied for the most by any one program and also had the highest total number of freshmen chosen. The full team listings can be viewed on the Region 20 website.
The Owls trio helped to lead their team to a 20-5 record on the season which included the #2 seed in the Region 20 Tournament where Prince George's finished as runners-up. The 2024-25 season is the first year a Prince George's women's basketball player has been eligible to receive All-Region honors after there weren't enough programs fielded at the Division III level in 2023-24.
