Athletic Department Announces Head Coach for Men's Basketball

The athletic Department would like to announce the hiring of Brian J. Johnson as the new Head Coach of Men's Basketball.

Johnson is coming from the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) where he spent the last 3 seasons as an assistant coach and was the team's Director of Men's Basketball Operations in 2012. Before joining the UMBC staff, he served as an assistant with Goldey Beacom College for one season and helped in guiding the team to an 18-11 record.

Johnson is from Annapolis and graduated from Mount St. Joseph, Baltimore in 2005. During his high school playing career he was Baltimore Catholic League player of the Year in 2005, compiled a record of 89-15 and won back to back league titles in 2004 and 2005.

He later moved on to play at Winchendon Prep in 2006 before earning a Division 1 basketball scholarship to University of Delaware. While representing the Blue Hens, he was a three year captain, 2nd in history with 3978 minutes played, 3rd in assist with 510, 8th with 135 three pointers made and 26th in points with 1,017. Johnson graduated from the University of Delaware in 2011 with a B.A in Sociology.
